### People say I'm a natural salesperson

1

Hey,

It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me. If you have little time, here’s the short story:

I’ve sold the joint venture to Vlerick Business School a year ago, and now I’m ready for an exciting new adventure.

I’ve asked many founders and CEOs in my network for advice and they said I’m a natural salesperson, networker and project manager.

They described me as **curious**, **analytical**and a **people-person.**Because I love to:

- Bring structure to the chaos,
- Be a sounding board and sparring partner,
- Genuinely care about who I work with.

So, if this made your eyes sparkle, send me an [email](mailto:geers.robin@gmail.com) and I’d be happy to help you on your mission.

And if you *really* want to know my story, here’s a longer update, my friend.

## Three years of building a network

May 2018. Straight out of university, I published my book *Start-up Survival* with my co-author and friend Jeroen De Wit, CEO at Teamleader CRM.

We filled the book with a mix of tactical tips from my interviews with 50 successful entrepreneurs and Jeroen’s personal experience.

Only four months later, we launched a Start-up Masterclass and helped tens of aspiring entrepreneurs.

In November we wanted to help scaling founders, so we partnered up with Vlerick Business School.

Together, we've organised Scale-up Masterclasses and helped 250 C-levels grow in three years.

Thanks to this journey, I met hundreds of CEOs, VPs and founders before the age of 25. So you can imagine I did a thousand interesting sales calls.

It made me feel proud to help them. Now that I think about it, I realise how intense this all was.

## One year of personal growth

Fast forward to December 2021. After three years of helping founders with Vlerick Business School, I decided to move on.

I was super grateful for all the learnings and the network, but it was time for something new.

Suddenly, I had SO MUCH free time. I immediately experimented with a few new startup ideas.

But the truth was, I wasn’t ready yet.

I still needed to recover from this intense period. I knew that to be ready for the next adventure, I needed to invest in personal growth.

So, I took a six months sabbatical and tried many things with an open mind:

- Read a ton of books,
- Followed many courses,
- Started transcendental meditation,
- Practised breathwork,
- Repeated affirmations,
- Floated in a sensory deprivation tank,
- Hired a coach,
- And hired a personal trainer.

And I learned A LOT.

## What can you learn from it?

When I share this story, people always ask me the same interesting question:

> *“What is the #1 lesson you learned from all those experiences?”*

That’s why I wanted to share not one, but two of my greatest lessons with you:

**Lesson #1: Do what you*****love*****.**

Because if you’re not passionate and obsessed about what you’re doing, you won’t be motivated enough to persevere.

**Lesson #2:*****Who*****you work with is more important than*****what*****you do.**

Don’t think you can do it all on your own. It takes a great team to build a mission. And when you’re working with the right people, it will feel joyful.

But how do you attract the right people? Well, this mental model helped me achieve that:

> ***Thoughts → Radiate → Attract**
> What you think is what you radiate.
> What you radiate is what you attract.
> To change what you attract, you must change your thoughts.*

Read that again to fully understand it.

Now look around you. The people you attracted are the consequences of your thoughts and what you believe. You know this is true.

## So what’s next?

I want to connect to a group of ambitious people who want to make an impact.

These groups can be (tech) companies with a great product, culture and leadership. As long as it’s with the right people.

I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t know yet who or what is coming, but I know one thing for sure: I’ve never felt so ready.

So if you’re looking for someone to help you on your mission, send me an [email](mailto:geers.robin@gmail.com).

I’m open to anything, but if others would describe me, they say I’m a natural salesperson, networker and project manager.

I promise to keep you close and update you on the next adventure!

Cheers,
- Robin
